Acid for Blood

軌道上から核攻撃だ……それが、確実に始末する唯一の方法だ。

  • AboutHello, and welcome to my games blog! I’m longtime gamer, starting with the Commodore 64 and the Atari 2600, right through my formative years with the Super Nintendo, and all the way up to current and recent generation consoles. On this blog, I make observations about games from my personal point of view. I write from a feminist and anti-oppression perspective, and I have a particular interest in how social and cultural issues intersect with games. Some games I’ve really enjoyed: Castlevania: Symphony of the Night Dance Dance Revolution Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem Guild Wars Guitar Hero Ico Katamari Damacy Metal Gear Solid Metroid series, especially Super Metroid Rock Band SingStar I enjoy non-electronic games. I used to LARP (World of Darkness) and I play Dungeons u0026#038; Dragons when I can. I also write for The Border House, a feminist blog focused on the perspectives of gamers who belong to marginalised groups. I’m fairly active on Twitter, and I have written an FAQ for interactions with me there. More About Me I live in the United States and work in the videogame industry as a community manager. My Blog, My Opinions—Not My Employer’s This blog existed before I started working in the…
  • A-Kul’s Arrival

It seems fitting that one of the main reasons that I purchased a brand new computer is the imminent launch of Guild Wars 2. My previous desktop computer purchase was partially prompted by the intention to play the original Guild Wars over seven years ago. This time, I decided not to go…

What she did wrong, according to the harassers, was to dare to put up a Kickstarter project to raise funds to create a series of web…

  • Journey

This post is filled with spoilers for Journey, so if you care about that sort of thing, finish the game before you read it. It’s perhaps a testament to thatgamecompany‘s minimalistic and purposefully artistic design that a player can read Journey in different ways. Journey succeeds admirably as both a…

  • Now Consuming (and Producing)

I don’t have a whole lot to report on the gaming front. When I get home from work these days, I’m too tired to want to invest time and attention into triple-A games like Final Fantasy XIII, which I started a couple months ago. A couple weeks ago, I worked…

  • UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception

UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception is a fun follow-up to UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves. Gamers who enjoy cinematic action narratives and UNCHARTED fans will probably enjoy it. The plot in UNCHARTED 3 is not as intriguing as the previous two installments, the action is mostly familiar, but it still delivers solidly…
