The results for Metroid Database’s Make-a-Metroid Contest are up. The first prize is an incredibly intricate submission, and worthy of the win. The contest, the first in the site’s history, celebrates the 13th anniversary of the Metroid Database, one of the longest-standing Metroid fan sites in existence.     Wow, the first place winner’s entry is very detailed/accurate. The only thing that [slightly] bothers me is the tissue paper on the metroid’s underside. Did you enter the contest?

    Yeah, the first place winner’s metroid was amazing. The underside looked so realistic that I had an almost visceral reaction to it. I wasn’t exactly grossed-out, but somewhere along the lines of being weirded out by an alien species.

    No, I didn’t enter the contest. I’m not nearly crafty or creative enough. :-) How about yourself?

    I hadn’t even heard of the contest until you blogged about it, so no, I didn’t enter. Likewise– I’m not skilled enough with visual arts. I wish I was, though; it’d be awesome to create something like that. :P
