PAX 2007 Pics

Compiled into two photosets for your viewing pleasure: ArenaNet/Guild Wars related and everything else.
I didn’t feel a great need to take pictures of most of the things in the Exhibit Hall. They were fairly unimpressive, and to be honest most of the stuff there was of small interest to me. Big Daddy statue? Yawn. Just […]

Mesmer Shuffle

I moved my Pre-Searing Mesmer over to Post-Searing. This Mesmer spent a year in Pre-Searing Ascalon, and she received the Charr Shaman minipet for her birthday. Tonight, I emptied her inventory into my shared storage vault and deleted her. I recreated her in Pre-Searing again.
The reason for the recreation is a bit silly and a […]

PAX: ArenaNet/Guild Wars Party

The ArenaNet party was held on Saturday 25 August at GameWorks, a big arcade/bar across the street from the Washington State Convention & Trade Centre, the venue for PAX. The party started at 18:00 for VIPs and ArenaNet staff. Everyone else at the convention could enter from 19:00.
Here’s a shot of the bar, without hordes […]

Ex-ArenaNet Employee Claims That ANet Works with Gold Farmers

I meant to post about the PAX Guild Wars party last night, but I ended up being too tired from work (and still tired from the weekend) to concentrate on writing. Instead I just played Guild Wars and relaxed in Pre-Searing Ascalon. I’ll try to write about the party tonight after work, but first…
I’ve been […]

PAX Panel: Inside ArenaNet

The panel opened with rousing music from Guild Wars: Eye of the North and a behind-the-scenes video from the Guild Wars Nightfall making-of DVD. The format for this panel was similar in structure to the other panel I attended. The official Guild Wars site has a brief summary. The first set of panelists were all […]

After-PAX Travel and Rest Period

PAX is over. It was largely awesome. I will not go into detail now, because once I start writing I won’t be able to stop. Plus, I really need to go to sleep. I will write about the ArenaNet panel at PAX, the Guild Wars party, my conversations with people from the Guild Wars development […]

PAX Panel: Guild Wars: Past, Present, and Future

I am actually sitting in my hotel blogging instead of going to the concerts or hanging around the halls of the convention center doing nothing. There aren’t any panels going on that I’m interested in, and I’d rather do something productive like write here.
The first Guild Wars panel of the day was called “Guild Wars: […]

PAX: Cosplay

Phoenix Wright:

Guild Wars Monks:

These Monks won the Guild Wars costume contest. Their prize pack contained a Logitech gaming keyboard and a Logitech gaming mouse. The male Monk wore his costume in response to a dare from Gaile Gray, ArenaNet Community Relations Manager, yesterday.

PAX: The OneUps

The only music concert I attended last night was the opening act: The OneUps. They’re one of my favourite videogame music remix bands, and if you haven’t bought their music, you should. Right now. Before it goes out of print again.

I missed the first 30 minutes of the show, unfortunately. Anyway, the show was really […]

PAX Panel: Girls, Games, and the Growing Role of Women in the Game Industry

Really quickly before I head out (late).
Each panelist was instructed to introduce themselves, how they got into games, and how they got into the industry. The moderator was Trixie from Xbox.com. Apparently her reputation precedes her and she doesn’t need to be introduced with a last name. The panelists were Jane Pinckard from CMP (the […]
