Friday. For Really.

It’s Thursday, and my stuff isn’t here yet. I was told it would be here. Today. It’s not. It’s somewhere in southern California. The truck got held up because they had to make a delivery in Arizona yesterday. Apparently the weight of my belongings, including my car, was a “small” shipment for the company, so they combined it with other shipments. The drivers have been merrily making deliveries all across the United States, with my stuff in tow, since a little over a fortnight ago.

Complaining wouldn’t make the driver drive faster, so I’m not stressing out or getting angry about it. I am being compensated for the delay, which takes a little bit of the sting out of the relocation expenses.

I know that following this is so exciting for my readers. That’s what I’m here for!

I have been playing a lot of Animal Crossing: Wild World. My current goal is to get the Golden Axe. It’s a long and convoluted process that begins with planting a red turnip, and ends with giving a scallop to an otter. Last week, I shot down a UFO with my slingshot. The UFO’s pilot was a seagull by the name of Gulliver. Not only did I get to shoot down his space ship, but finding the pieces of the downed craft for him compelled him to reward me with an accesory for my house. The Happy Room Academy love me. They showered me with all sorts of praise in their most recent letter.

I haven’t been able to get Animal Crossing to work with my wireless router. Yet. That’s one of my projects for the weekend, as well as starting the unpacking process. It begins with the computer. :D

    Furniture is overrated.

My town is full of weeds because I haven’t played in over 6 months. It kept my interest for a while — mostly because it was one of the few Japanese games I could understand (my understanding has now branched out to games like Tokimeki Memorial: Girl’s Side) but I got sick of the letters. I don’t know how it is in the English version, but the Japanese one is really strict!

In the English GC Animal Crossing, as long as I had the buzz words I could get away with saying all sorts of crazy stuff. Not so with my DS Japanese AC :( I have to stick to a formula of, “Isn’t Ramen Village the best? Here is a present for you. It is a [whatever] because you are my best friend.” I could vary the sentence structure a bit, but sending letters to everyone in my town so they wouldn’t leave just ended up sucking.

That which does not kill us… makes us stronger. Feel stronger?

I certainly feel something after doing a lot of unpacking and arranging my furniture yesterday. ;)
