I really don’t like the title “GuildWiki” for a reference to Guild Wars. There are many guild-related games, and this creates an ambiguity. Perhaps it should be called GuildWarsWiki. There’s a WoWWiki. Or is that WoWiki? Funny, I can’t go to the WoW Wiki site from work (it’s blocked), but I can get to the GuildWiki site. Guess they haven’t found it yet.

I think the title GuildWiki should be reserved for all guilds of all games. It’d be a great place to storehouse guild information. Plus, many guilds transcend different games, but with the same name. You could keep in touch with old guild mates. Each page would be attributed to a guild, and it would indicate what games that guild currently inhabits. You could search by game or server (shard, whatever). Anyway, just my little rant. I guess the GW people like it.

    :)

Unfortunately… it would be very innnefficient to make a wiki for all guilds in all games. You’d be unable to program anything of use to any guilds, seeing as games have different implementations. Even if you did, why not just make each game wiki responsible for it’s own content…

I think GuildWiki is perfectly fine. Players should be able to locate and remember a wiki for their games. If they are confused at first by the name GuildWiki, they need only remember in later cases that GuildWiki isn’t the wiki they want.
