GDC Planning

A couple weeks ago, I secured my accomodation and flights for my trip to San Jose to attend the Game Developers Conference. It feels good to have that out of the way.

Sadly, I missed the deadline to submit a character background to play in a D&D game with other Conference Associates. :-( *sigh* I guess I’ll have to find something else to occupy my time during the two nights that the D&D game is running.

Many of the Game Developers Conference sessions have been scheduled. I took a quick glance at the timetable just now. There are so many! I will take a closer look at the session descriptions and narrow down my interests. My Conference Associate duties will take precedence over attending panels, of course, but I will try to attend the sessions that are most important to me.

I would also like to attend Satoru Iwata’s keynote, but it’s going to be insanely crowded, and who knows if I’ll even be able to get in. I won’t get my hopes up too high, but I’ll give it a shot. Will Wright’s talk also looks interesting, but again, I will face the same problem of the event being overcrowded and having to struggle to get in.

I’m looking forward to next month!

EDIT: Apparently, there are still spaces left in the D&D campaign! I may re-use one of my old characters, even though the four Eberron races are available for play, and it is a bit tempting to try out a Kalashtar. I’ll see whether re-using old characters is allowed.
